To the Lord who wielded His discus on the wicked Banasura who was waging an unfair battle through his illusory powers, we sing Pallandu.

நெய்யிடை நல்லதோர் சோறும் நியதமும் அத்தாணிச் சேவகமும்

மெய்யிடை நல்லதோர் சாந்தமும் தந்தென்னை வெள்ளுயிர் ஆக்கவல்ல

பையுடை நாகப் பகைக்கொடி யானுக்குப் பல்லாண்டு கூறுவனே

The lord gives me good rice food with ghee, and privileges of attendance, betel leaf and arecanut, ornaments for the neck and ears and fragment sandal paste to smear. He purges my soul. He has the Garuda bird, -- foe of the hooded snakes, -- on his banner; for him I sing Pallandu.

உடுத்துக் கலைந்தநின் பீதக ஆடை உடுத்துக் கலத்ததுண்டு

விடுத்த திசைக்கரு மம்திருத் தித்திரு வோணத் திருவிழவில்

படுத்தபைந் நாகணைப் பள்ளிகொண் டானுக்குப் பல்லாண்டு கூறுதுமே

O Lord reclining on the hooded snake, we wear the yellow vestments you wear and discard. We eat the food offered to you. We wear the woven Tulasi flowers you wear and discard, and rejoice. Keeping watch over the ways of the world, you appeared in the asterism of Sravanam. To you we sing Pallandu.

செந்நாள் தோற்றித் திருமது ரையுட் சிலை குனித்து ஐந்தலைய

பைந்நா கத்தலைப் பாய்ந்தவ னே!உன்னைப் பல்லாண்டு கூறுதுமே

My Lord! The day we became your bonded serfs, the very day our

entire clan found its refuge and salvation, see! You appeared on
that auspicious day in Mathura city, destroyed Kamsa's aresenal
and danced on the head of the five-hooded snake, Pallandu to you.

நல்வகை யால்நமோ நாராயணாவென்று நாமம் பலபரவி

பல்வகை யாலும் பவித்திர னே!உன்னைப் பல்லாண்டு கூறுவனே

My lord Tirumal! Like the faultless chief of Kottiyur Selvanambi, a mountain of respectability, I am an old faithful servant of yours. Chanting Namo Narayana and other names in myriad ways with all my power, O Pure One, I sing Pallandu to you.

பல்லாண் டென்று பவித்திர னைப்பர மேட்டியை சார்ங்கமென்னும்

வில்லாண் டான்தன்னை வில்லிபுத் தூர்விட்டு சித்தன் விரும்பியசொல்

நல்லாண் டென்று நவின்றுரைப் பார்நமோ நாரய ணாயவென்று

பல்லாண் டும்பர மாத்மனைச் சூழ்ந்திருந் தேத்துவர் பல்லாண்டே

These words were uttered with love by Villiputtur's Vishnuchitta, wishing 'Pallandu' for the pure lord, the large hearted one, wielder of the Sarnga bow. Those who enjoy singing this and surround the lord at all times chanting 'Namo Narayana' for them too, this good year, Pallandu.

வண்ண மாடங்கள் சூழ்திருக் கோட்டியூர்

கண்ணன் கேசவன் நம்பி பிறந்தினில்

எண்ணெய் சுண்ணம் எதிரெதிர் தூவிட

கண்ணன் முற்றம் கலந்தள றாயிற்றே.

When the lord Sri Krishna Kesava was born in Tirukkottiyur of beautiful

mansions they spilled oil and turmeric powder on one another, slushing the portico of Krishna's house.

ஓடுவார், விழுவார் உகந்து ஆலிப்பார்

நாடுவார், "நம்பிரான் எங்குத்தான் ? " என்பார்;
பாடுவார்களும் பல்பறை கொட்ட நின்று
ஆடுவார்களும் ஆயிற்று ஆய்ப்பாடியே.

naaduvaar, nampiraan enguthaan enbaar;

paaduvaargalum palpaRai kotta ninru

aaduvaargalum aayitru aayppaadiye.

They ran and fell, then rose and greeted joyously, asking, "Where

is our Lord?". Singers, dancers and drummers everywhere thronged
the cowherds' hamlet.

பேணிச் சீர் உடைப் பிள்ளை பிறந்தினில்

காணத் தாம் புகுவார், புக்குப் போதுவார்
"ஆண் ஒப்பார் இவன் நேர் இல்லை
காண், திருவோணத்தான், உலகு ஆளும் ! " என்பார்களே.

Soon after the protected child was born, they poured in to the

nursery to see him, and came out saying, "He has no match!", "He
shall rule the Earth!", "Tiruvonam is his star!"
